The Rocky Mountain Bonsai Society (RMBS) is an organization that:
- promotes public awareness of bonsai in the Rocky Mountain Region;
- helps its members improve their knowledge in the art and science of bonsai; and
- assists its members in the development of personal collections of traditional Japanese style bonsai and plants of regional origin which are suitable for bonsai.
The RMBS meets at the Denver Botanic Gardens - Waring House on the first Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 PM except in December. Additionally, nine months of the year members get together on the last Saturday of the month to work on their individual trees. See the calendar for more information.
Each year since 1973, RMBS
has hosted a public bonsai exhibition at the Denver Botanic Gardens,
normally on Father's Day weekend.

June 17 - Tuesday Evening - President's
Presentation - at WARING
HOUSE
This meeting is in place of our 'Normal July meeting' so please mark your
calendar to attend and DON'T show up on July 1. This is our annual
president's presentation. For this year, Steve will be doing a
demonstration on Japanese Yew. This is a great tree to develop into bonsai
for several reasons, not the least important that some good starter
material can be found for less than $20. If you are new to bonsai or want
to get introduced to starting a bonsai from the beginning then be sure to
attend.
June 28, 2008 - Workshop - Bring your own tree with Walter Pall
Saturday's workshop will be a 'members only' workshop at Larry Jackel's
house. The workshop will be from 10:00AM until 3:00PM and the cost will be
$50 per person. Call Larry Jackel at 303-693-2991 or sign
up at our June 3 meeting. Bring a tree to work on.
August 5, 2008 - regular Tues evening meeting - MORRISON CENTER
Meet at Morrison Center - The building to the north of the main parking
lot at the Denver Botanic Gardens in the Denver Botanic gardens at our
regular time 7-8:30PM.
August 30, 2008 - Workshop - Podocarpus 'Buddha Pine' with Steve
Goodwin
We are bringing in material from Florida for this workshop. Total cost for
the workshop, including a Podocarpus pre-bonsai being grown in a 5 gallon
container, is $75. Sign up at our June
